Late the other day after it snowed, I walked along some of the ponds left over from the start of a gravel pit. The ponds near Plainfield, Illinois include many mounds of left over fill that have become the homes of numerous coyotes who howl the night away if any sirens go off or if they are on a hunt. The hours before and after sunset is usually so peaceful one would think no wildlife lives here!
I have always loved drawing, painting and photography; although, drawing and painting were my earliest love as a kid. In high school I took one art class my senior year under Miss Barbara Olson. She suggested that I consider taking an art major in college. My father had other ideas! As a result, this love was put aside until I was nearing retirement. I began taking a few drawing, colored pencil and water color classes at Chicago's Morton Arboretum. I am finally getting a chance to do what I really love to do! Flowers and gardens have always been a love of mine even as a kid as I pulled weeds in my mother's Wisconsin flower garden.
