The other day, my husband and I took a drive through Morton Arboretum in Lyle, Illinois. As we drove through this grove of trees, I spotted this huge troll peering down at us. It was huge . . . approximately 30 feet tall! I just had to stop and and get some photos of it. Even though it was made basically of wooden slats . . . I almost felt it could move as it watched us!!!!
I have always loved drawing, painting and photography; although, drawing and painting were my earliest love as a kid. In high school I took one art class my senior year under Miss Barbara Olson. She suggested that I consider taking an art major in college. My father had other ideas! As a result, this love was put aside until I was nearing retirement. I began taking a few drawing, colored pencil and water color classes at Chicago's Morton Arboretum. I am finally getting a chance to do what I really love to do! Flowers and gardens have always been a love of mine even as a kid as I pulled weeds in my mother's Wisconsin flower garden.
