This spring has been particularly stormy over our western Chicago area. One day in particular the dark storm clouds seemed to just boil through when an opening in the clouds appeared.

I have always loved drawing, painting and photography; although, drawing and painting were my earliest love as a kid. In high school I took one art class my senior year under Miss Barbara Olson. She suggested that I consider taking an art major in college. My father had other ideas! As a result, this love was put aside until I was nearing retirement. I began taking a few drawing, colored pencil and water color classes at Chicago's Morton Arboretum. I am finally getting a chance to do what I really love to do! Flowers and gardens have always been a love of mine even as a kid as I pulled weeds in my mother's Wisconsin flower garden.
