We were on our way to Granada, Spain from Almaria, Spain when we decided to stop at a wayside. While waiting for the others to resume our trip, I spotted these fruit hanging so heavily on their branches. I knew I had to photograph them. A year later while on a cruise, I decided that as a way to spend my sea days I would paint. These fruit came immediately to mind . . . hence Fall's Abundance!
I have always loved drawing, painting and photography; although, drawing and painting were my earliest love as a kid. In high school I took one art class my senior year under Miss Barbara Olson. She suggested that I consider taking an art major in college. My father had other ideas! As a result, this love was put aside until I was nearing retirement. I began taking a few drawing, colored pencil and water color classes at Chicago's Morton Arboretum. I am finally getting a chance to do what I really love to do! Flowers and gardens have always been a love of mine even as a kid as I pulled weeds in my mother's Wisconsin flower garden.
