As we came up the inner breakwater towards Bora Bora this scene caught my eye. The clouds rising over the Bora Bora mountains for the afternoon rain storm was stunning taking on a soft green color from the mountains. This contrasted with the thatch roofed bungalows sitting quietly in the surf. It was evident that someone had been swimming earlier from the towel tossed over the bungalow's rail.
I have always loved drawing, painting and photography; although, drawing and painting were my earliest love as a kid. In high school I took one art class my senior year under Miss Barbara Olson. She suggested that I consider taking an art major in college. My father had other ideas! As a result, this love was put aside until I was nearing retirement. I began taking a few drawing, colored pencil and water color classes at Chicago's Morton Arboretum. I am finally getting a chance to do what I really love to do! Flowers and gardens have always been a love of mine even as a kid as I pulled weeds in my mother's Wisconsin flower garden.
